Sidney P. Santos is the Executive Director of At Work Rio Solutions, a proactive and responsible professional with large experience in gas pipeline conceptual design in Brazil and in Europe. Has provided consultancy work to some important gas pipeline projects in Europe. Incorporates solid background in engineering, economics, feasibility studies, thermohydraulic simulation, Monte Carlo simulation and Quantitative Risk Analysis.
Mr. Santos has more than thirty years’ experience in gas pipeline design including thermohydraulic simulation, compressor station optimization, feasibility studies and quantitative risk analysis with Monte Carlo simulation. Has participated actively in many gas pipeline projects at Petrobras as the Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline and Gas Pipeline Network Expansion Projects. Has also provided consultant work for European companies related to Trans Asia Gas Pipeline (Kazakhstan section) and some other gas pipeline projects in Kazakhstan. Has lectured on Gas Pipeline and Compressor Station Design in China, Kazakhstan and Brazil (at Petrobras). Has presented papers in international seminars and technical articles in international magazines.

PlantR&A - A New Product Release of At Work Rio Solutions

The Design Phase of a project, mainly the Conceptual Design Phase is of key importance to incorporate reliable technology tools that will add value to the design while addressing and mitigating risks not normally covered in this phase. Project Sponsors and stakeholders will be more convinced of the feasibility of projects as we submit then a comprehensive and sustained methodology that takes care of the uncertainties of a project at the conceptual design phase where all necessary investments or improvements will be included in the project budget without to postpone solutions that might destroy project value and reduce its profitability.
Keeping in mind this principle, At Work Rio Solutions Ltda. is developing technological tools that incorporate this methodology.
PlantR&A is a new web application, developed by At Work Rio and now released to the market, that performs Availability and Reliability analysis of an industrial plant, e.g.: gas pipeline, compressor station, natural gas processing plant, and others industrial plants onshore or offshore, using Monte Carlo Simulation technology. Provides users with resources to model and run projects to identify the level of reliability and availability of a project, to identify sensitive components and to improve the results by adding redundancy or replacing components with a higher level of reliability and availability.

At Work Rio has signed an agreement with Houston based Siemens Energy Inc. for GasPipelineDesign Suite

“At Work Rio Solutions is very proud to announce that we have signed an agreement with Siemens Energy, Inc., based in Houston, for their use of the mobile application GasPipelineDesign Suite v6.0.
This is a result of a joint work between Siemens and At Work Rio along two and a half months for trial testing the application with some examples of big pipelines as the Alliance Pipeline that operates with very high pressure, transporting rich gas from Canada down to Chicago, USA and the Republican Gas Pipeline in Texas.
We have modelled Siemens gas turbines to identify how accurate GasPipelineDesign Suite does the modelling and to identify the best technical and economical fit for Siemens equipment for a potential capacity expansion project.”
